Sun that carved you into silence,
Heat that bent the distant air.
Every step the camels hoof
Was guided with great care.

No traveller crossed the sands alone
Each soul became a guide.
The strongest walked beside the weak
For the desert humbled pride.

When storms erased the tracks behind,
The elders took the lead.
The oldest maps were never drawn;
They lived in memory.

Every burden gently tied,
Every promise softly said.
The camels rose with patient grace
To face the road ahead.

Their shadows stretched through endless dawns,
Where earth and heaven meet.
The desert spoke in whispered winds,
And faith became their feet.

No kingdom lasts forever,
No footprints have a name
And every caravan that passed
Still left the stars the same.

“The Caravan” travels into the ancient desert, where survival depended upon patience, memory, cooperation and an intimate understanding of the land. Beneath relentless sun and across shifting sands, travellers learned quickly that no one crossed such landscapes entirely alone.

The strongest did not simply move ahead; they supported those who struggled. Elders carried knowledge passed through generations, reading landscapes and remembering routes that existed long before maps could record them. Camels became essential companions, carrying precious burdens with the quiet endurance required by journeys measured not in hours, but in horizons.

When storms erased the tracks behind them, travellers had to trust experience, instinct and one another. The desert became a great equaliser, stripping away pride and reminding everyone of their dependence upon forces greater than themselves.

There is also a deeper meditation on time within “The Caravan.” Kingdoms rise and disappear, names are forgotten and footprints vanish almost as soon as they are made. Yet the desert remains, and the stars continue shining above every generation that crosses beneath them.

The song ultimately honours resilience, shared responsibility and the ancient truth that the hardest journeys become possible when people travel them together.
