The Story Behind Morning Chase

Some songs arrive all at once. Others slowly gather themselves over time, shaped by memories, movement, longing, and the quiet spaces in between. Morning Chase was one of those songs.

Born from reflections on pursuit, change, and the feeling of always reaching toward something just beyond the horizon, the song carries the energy of movement through both landscape and emotion. Early mornings, long country roads, fading fog, rising light, and the restless pull of possibility all became part of its atmosphere.
Like much of The Hive Sessions, the song began long before the music itself. Fragments of poetry, unfinished thoughts, and observations written over many years slowly found their rhythm and eventually evolved into melody. The result became less about a destination and more about the feeling of the chase itself.
There is a quiet tension woven through Morning Chase. A sense of searching for meaning, connection, peace, or perhaps even a version of yourself that only appears for brief moments before disappearing again into the distance.
Visually, the song was heavily influenced by the Australian countryside at first light. Empty roads, cool air, storm clouds lifting, and the soft gold glow that arrives just after sunrise all helped shape the cinematic feeling surrounding the piece.
At its heart, Morning Chase is about movement through life itself. The hopes we follow. The memories we carry. The things we almost reach. And the beauty hidden inside the pursuit, even when the destination remains unknown.
